Eddie has been trying cases during his entire tenure with the firm which began after graduation from law school.

He has tried numerous cases to verdict at all levels of the state and federal court. This experience covers most of the state with Eddie having worked out of three of the firms five offices within South Carolina. He has tried all manner of cases and now focuses on coverage issues, bad faith actions, trucking accidents and other complex personal injury actions. Eddie has also argued cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals, South Carolina Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals

Eddie believes in providing his clients both efficient and effective representation. He aims to achieve his clients’ desired results at a fair and reasonable cost.

  • Obtained summary judgment on a claim for underinsured motorist coverage for injuries sustained in a drive-by shooting.
  • Prevailed on summary judgment with the court ruling the operator of the insured vehicle did not have permission to use the vehicle at the time of the accident.
  • Granted summary judgment that the insurance company made a meaningful offer of underinsured motorist coverage.
  • Trial court reversed on appeal and obtained a ruling that reporting an accident eight months after it occurred did not satisfy the statutory requirement for an uninsured motorist claim that the accident be reported to authorities within a reasonable time.
  • Obtained a reversal of trial court on appeal and established precedent in South Carolina that a life insurer is not required to show a causal connection between the insured’s
  • death and the matter misrepresented to rescind a policy for fraud.
  • Successfully defended a trucking company and its driver on a wrongful death claim in a multiple-day trial in federal court.
