Lanneau “Lanny” Lambert serves his clients in business transaction matters including contracts, leases and loans.
His practice has a focus on commercial real estate finance and development, which stems from his early career as in-house counsel at a real estate development and mortgage banking company. A detail-oriented person by nature, Lanny approaches each matter with the ability to see the big picture while connecting the many dots that add up to achieving a successful closing.
Within the commercial real estate arena, Lanny regularly represents both lenders and borrowers on matters ranging from financing and loans to land development and zoning. On the lender side, his clients include life insurance companies, national and community banks and private parties. On the borrower side, clients include developers, tenants and municipalities. By working with both types of real estate clients, Lanny provides all clients with thorough counsel. Since he knows the information borrowers and lenders need to acquire during a real estate transaction, he can fully explain each step in the process to his clients, whether they are seasoned in real estate transactions or new to the process. Lanny’s track record for getting loans done right has created a high level of trust among lenders.
On the business side, Lanny’s work for many small and mid-size business clients includes handling contracts and leases related to day-to-day business affairs, and making himself available for clients to offer advice on a variety of business situations. Lanny prides himself on listening to his clients in order to discern their needs and the most appropriate solutions. He has developed a reputation as a problem solver – helping his clients work through their problems and, when needed, helping them negotiate difficult circumstances with adverse parties. Lanny always has his eye on his clients’ best interests, which sometimes involves conflict negotiation instead of problem escalation.
Lanny is guided by the quote from Winston Churchill, “You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.” Ever since the SC Bar asked Lanny to develop a senior citizens handbook as a young attorney, he has given back to his profession through involvement in the bar. He has also been active in giving back through many community groups, including Junior Achievement. As a member of the business community, he views Junior Achievement as an ideal way to support the future leaders of his community.
